Fiets en Wandelbeurs Netherlands - February 11, 2012

This is the event to attend if you're a biking enthusiast. It's the biggest event of its kind in the area and possibly the world. There are discussions, workshops and seminars related to all things - bike, and lots more too relating to travel and recreation. www.rai.nl

Film and Pianola at the Pianola Museum - February 25, 2012

Film and Pianola promises to be an interesting event taking place at the beautiful and charming Pianola Museum. Famous live pianist Yvo Verschoor accompanies various popular silent movie scenes - providing a live musical score, right before your eyes and ears. www.pianola.nl

Holland Flower Festival - February 22 to February 26, 2012

This yearly flower festival attracts thousands of visitors with its spectacle of the popular bulb flowers that the Netherlands is known for. Each year focuses on a different country and the theme for 2012 will be dedicated to the colourful, and gorgeous palette that is India. A fixed-fee shuttle bus service whisks visitors from Hoorn train station (30 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station) to the festival's Middenmeer location. www.hollandflowersfestival.nl/en

De Koninck Blues Festival Delft - February 10 and 11, 2012

Blues musicians take over more than 30 venues in Delft's picturesque Old Town. Performances are free but the blues workshops and lectures carry a modest fee. Delft is very easy to get to from Amsterdam - only 54-minutes by train.www.delftblues.nl
