From Schipol Airport

  1. Take a train shuttle to Amsterdam Train Station; Train leaves every 10-min between 0600 and 0100, costing less than €4 OW.
  2. Get comfortable as the journey last about 40-min.
  3. Directions from the Amsterdam Train Station.

From the Amsterdam Train Station

  1. At Amsterdam Train Station exit into the large square; head towards Victoria Hotel.
  2. Follow Damrak Avenue for about 200m.
  3. At the end of the Cruise Boats Harbour turn LEFT into Oudebrugsteeg.
  4. Turn RIGHT onto Warmoesstraat (at the Chikita Shop)
  5. Walk for about 150m to St. Christopher’s.

From Dam Square

  1. Warmoesstraat starts on the North-East corner of the square.
  2. St. Christopher’s is at 129 Warmoesstraat.

Parking Facilities

  1. Public Parking is available on Damrak, about 50m from the Winston.
  2. The cost is around €4/hour.

Location in Amsterdam

Forget about buses when staying at St. Christopher’s as you’re right where all the action is. The Red Light District is in your back yard and you’re surrounded by pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Canal Cruises launch just around the corner and a whole host of museums are just minutes away. Also close by is the Dam Square, a great place to get your bearing for finding your way to Madame Tussard’s Wax Museum, the Royal Palace, the Niewe Kerk and those quirky little side streets loaded with headshops, coffee shops and trippy, hippie shops. Or take a rest by the WWII monument and watch the world pass you by.

Travelling to Amsterdam

By Air

Most major airlines fly directly into Amsterdam. For cheap flights within the UK and Europe try www.ryanair.com or www.easyjet.com. Both have several flights a day connecting Amsterdam to other major centres at dirt cheap prices. Book enough in advance and travel for £0.01. (Plus taxes and fees)

By Coach

Eurolines still remains the best option for cheap intercity travel between Amsterdam and destinations large and small. Visit www.eurolines.com for prices and schedule.

By Train

If the bus doesn’t get you where you want to go fast enough, spend a bit more and you can get a seat on the speed rail network that makes European travel so very convenient. www.europeanrailguide.com. You can also hitch a ride on the EuroStar at www.eurostar.com, a super fast way to cross the English Channel with local connections to your preferred destination. From London to Brussels and a change to continue onto Amsterdam. Book early for cheap seat and enjoy youth prices until 26.   

By Ferry

For a leisurely and scenic route try the Dutch Flyer from the UK. For £25 you get a ferry ride across the English Channel to Belgium and a connecting rail pass to Amsterdam. Visit www.dutchflyer.co.uk.
