Cardiff Backpacker Hostel in Cardiff, Wales

Hostel Info

We are within a stone’s throw of the city centre. Our philosophy is to create a warm
Welsh haven away from home… top Staff, best Showers, great Kitchen, late Bar, and much, much more. ‘Sociable, comfortable and clean is what we mean’.

All our staff take great pride in making your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. They have a wealth of knowledge about pubs, clubs and cafes in the city centre and about day trips to the many attractions nearby, or travelling further afield into the many stunning areas of Wales.

We have a fully licensed late bar offering a variety of world beers at discounted rates for guests, “Happy Hour”, music and a great place to meet new people and exchange travelling stories!

Our small shop provides everything from postcards & souvenirs, toiletries and essentials to basic foods for you to cook in our kitchen. Our pricing policy is to undercut tourist shops and match supermarket prices.

Our philosophy is to create a haven away from home, so you can borrow from our extensive video library and become a couch potato; shoot some pool; keep in touch on one of our internet stations; or chill out reading in a hammock while your steaks are sizzling on the BBQ.

Hostel Location

Cardiff Backpacker Hostel is within a stone’s throw from the centre of Europe's youngest and fastest growing capital. Cardiff is a vibrant compact city with a large student and multicultural population.

Brimming with a massive choice of bars, nightclubs and restaurants, Cardiff is now established as Britain's main sporting venue. Our splendid Millennium Stadium uniquely situated in the heart of the city (and a drop kick's distance from the Hostel), hosted the 1999 Rugby World Cup and is the home of the FA (Soccer) Cup Final.

A city of character arcades and cafés, Cardiff is also a friendly place to relax. It is home to the National Museum & Gallery of Wales, the Museum of Welsh Life, (both of which have free entry) and three castles all set in stunning countryside and parks.

2005 means Cardiff is celebrating 100 as a city and 50 years as capital and gateway to the ancient and breathtaking country of Wales. Wales’ identity is intrinsically linked to its own language. Welsh is the oldest living language in Europe and is spoken either as a first or second language by many of the Hostel’s staff. This increasingly independent small nation boasts three National Parks, five areas of outstanding natural beauty, and more castles per square mile than any other part of the world. Outdoor activities abound the Brecon Beacons, the Gower Peninsula, the Pembrokeshire Coast and Snowdonia Mountains.

Nearby Tafarn

Not a Restaurant, but a Bar with great food. Uniquely situated on the shores of the river Taff and a stone’s throw from the Millennium Stadium is ‘Tafarn’. Chilled music, sofas and a refreshingly different menu sourcing organic Welsh produce are what’s here to tempt you.

Tafod

Cardiff’s newest music venue, blending old and new tunes from Wales and the World to create a cosy vibe in cool surroundings.  Come and talk, drink and listen to great sounds, whether it’s a live band or one of our very own creative DJ’s.
