Balmers is the oldest private hostel in Switzerland with over 60 years of experience, we strive to make your stay fun and interesting. Nestled in between two lakes and the majestic Jungfrau, Monk and Eiger Mountains in the Bernese Oberland. A perfect getaway filled with outdoor activities from hiking to skydiving and a welcome change from hectic city travel.
Hostel Location
For those who are interested there is the Mystery Park, which is a theme park explaining all the mysteries in the world. Indoor ten pin bowling, chocolate making shows with tasting, cheese making trips on traditional farms and of course hiking trails galore with stunning scenery with the alps and water falls. Interlaken is the centre for all outdoor activities here are but below are a few.

Reception & Check In
- Reception is open 24 hours - during the day from 7am in the store and after 9pm at the night desk
- Check in for the dorms is at 4pm
- Check in for the private rooms is 12 noon
- Dormitories are closed for cleaning from 10.30 to 16.00

We offer many recreational areas with ping pong tables, pool tables, fuss ball and board games. We also give our guests a free internet token as a welcome when checking in.
