Beauty Terrorist - The Sequel
Beauty Terrorist made a bit of a splash in May and the ripples it made were great and good. With that in mind I'm going to build an aesthetically pleasing house of beauty on this foundation and give you a salon load of affordable products, treats on the road and intercontinental tips on how to shine a little brighter.
This month I jumped off the good ship Ryanair and hopped aboard EasyJet. This legroom restricting airline makes life a little easier for the beauty addict backpacker because you get a bag in the hold at no extra cost.
In other words you can take as many products as you like without the power hungry, plastic bag fascists confiscating them. After all there's nothing more annoying than depleting your backpacker budget by buying travel essentials, before and after you fly.
Now that you don't have to worry about additional expenses on your European mini trips, you can start to think about the little luxuries that go beyond the 100ml restriction.
A good place to start is the Trind Nail Care range. This handy little set has graced the palms of the Desperate Housewives - which we like. It's also fallen into the paws of Jennifer Love Hewitt but don't let that put you off. It's affordable, it works and it does wonders for dry skin and dull cuticles.
The full range involves 13 solutions mixed up by the manicure maestros of Holland - but a backpacker's time is precious so here are the best bits.
It's easily absorbed, helps to repair damaged skin cells and it's full of Vitamins A, C and E.
Trind Hand Repair Ace is seven pounds and ninety five pence of Vitamin F encouraging fun. It's easily absorbed, helps to repair damaged skin cells and it's full of Vitamins A, C and E.
Now that your hands are aglow with a youthful glamour you should spend a little time on your nails. Manicures are a nice treat but why pay £40 for it when you can do the same thing for a fifth of the price?
The Trind Cuticle Remover is quick, easy and over before you know it. You just brush it on once a month and allow it to soak in. This softens the pesky overgrown cuticles that inhibit nail growth and leaves you free to remove any of the excess skin. It's only £5.95 and totally worth it.
Next up is the Trind Nail Magic Nail Buffer at £2.95. It exfoliates and smoothes out the ridges, while stimulating the production of natural moisture levels, which make your talons super shiny.
The Moisturizing Nail Balsam has been described as a mani-miracle. It's about time that we had a: “Here comes the science” moment so here it is! The balsam contains Biotine which is a natural copy of the natural nail moisture. This replenishes, re-hydrates and salvages split, brittle nails that have become lifeless after years or typing, cooking, partying and neglect. This oil free wonder is £5.95.
Last but by no means least is Trind Nail Repair. It comes in Clear Gloss, Clear Matt and Pearl, binds together your protein molecules and encourages growth by reinforcing individual nail layers. It'll take two weeks of daily treatment to get your claws in shape and after that a once a week treatment will keep you split free. The Gloss and Matt are both £7.95 and the Pearl is £8.95.
You can grab the Trind Range from independent pharmacies across the United Kingdom and the Garden Pharmacy in London.
Now it's time to hear what cosmetics you worship your temple like body with. If you've discovered the next big beautylicious product then drop me a line and I'll do a spot of investigating.
Check out Beauty Terrorist next month when the Flashpackers take the floor. Having a birthday away from home is tough but a facial or two from Mum and Dad can soften the blow.
