Conditioning Body Wash
Last month we discovered that regular soap strips your skin of its natural protective, oily, balanced layer and that to combat this – you need a soap substitute with a PH between 4 and 6. After extensive research it has been concluded that the best, big buy bottle is Dermalogica’s Conditioning Body Wash. It doubles as a body bath soak, you only need a tiny splodge per application, the oils in it moisturise while you wash and the after smell is rather yummy. The 437ml bottle also lasts for a good two months, making it as affordable in the long run - as the mainstream, acidic brands.
Essential Cleansing Solution
PH balanced body washes are one thing but when it come to your face, the all over scrubs just aren’t going to cut it. The skin on your visage has an entirely different make up and so, needs a special treatment. If you like Dermalogica then the recommended facial add on is the relatively new release, Essential Cleansing Solution. The solution has a milky consistency and lifts of the daily build up of rubbish with ease, leaving your skin silky soft and not at all oily. Alternatively try Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Facewash. It’s not quite as powerful but a couple of rounds with this will produce a similar result.
Antitoxidant Hydramist
Now when it comes to Toners, it’s really best not skimp and I can’t stress enough how important it is to match the right strength toner with the gentle balance created by using a gentle milk cleanser. In other words you don’t want to soften up your skin only to strip away all the good work and natural protection, with a paint stripping, alcohol based toner. Dermalogica’s Antitoxidant Hydramist is perfect for said task as it not only helps to rehydrate the skin but also leaves behind an antioxidant shield, made up of White Tea, Liquorice and Vitamin E. There’s even an element of Pea extract in there too - to help reinforce your skin’s natural elasticity! Finally Be sure to follow all of this up this one up with a worthy moisturiser. For your face Garnier’s Synergie Fresh Quenching Moisturising Fluid works a treat and for your body, try Nivea’s new Happy Time Body Lotion.
