On a Budget
Planet Spa Hawaiin Thermal Volcano Warming Face Mask: This little beauty from the Avon Catalogue (wipe that look off your face and keep reading please) costs a teeny, tiny £4.00 and you can see the benefits, the second you wash it off. It’s kind of like a facial so do it a day or two before a big event to get the best result, and gives your skin a chance to adjust to the new balance. This clay really does have a nice warming effect, it tightens your skin and uses rentonite extracted from volcanic ash together with Macadamia nut oil ‐ to rehydrate your skin.
Mid Range
Mask of Magnaminty by Lush: This minty fresh face mask is must buy but only if you have a fridge in which to keep it cool. So goes the tradition of Lush using fresh ingredients that go off if they’re not refrigerated! This little number exfoliates and moisturise your outer layers and gets rid of a fair few blackheads. The coffee and chocolate option is also a great choice from Lush ‐ if you do decide to go down this road.
Olay Daily Facials Deep Cleansing Clay Mask: Without making it sound bland, this option suits most budgets and the majority of skin types out there. The results however are by no means middle of the road and the clay in this recipe will leave you looking fresh, with baby soft skin.
The High End
Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque: This is my pick of the bunch purely because I’m prepared to hold my hands up and say I have oily skin. The sebum clearing factor is therefore a big plus and works to cool, refine and deep‐cleanse. The list of ingredients includes Kaolin and Bentonite which work to absorb excess surface oil and prevent build up from well, building up. The Niacinamide, Zinc Gluconate, Yeast Extract, Caffeine and Biotin even instruct any overactive sebaceous glands to quit it and also sooths any irritable areas. As for blocked follicles ‐ the Salicylic Acid in the mix clears out the congestion. In a nutshell this one makes you look real pretty.
Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask: This offering is also an oil‐absorber. Furthermore it helps any blemishes to heal and contains antiseptic elements like Rosemary, Thyme, and Lavender. You don’t get quite as much bang for your buck as you do with Dermalogica, but it’s still a great mask especially if you have combination skin or skin prone to break outs.
