Shannon Noll Interview

This month the force of nature from Australian Idol – Shannon Noll - takes some time out to talk to Rob Savage about his hits so far and an awkward encounter with Basil Brush.
1. A little warm up fun – if you could re-write the final line of the following tongue twister, what you throw in there?
I'm not the pheasant plucker, I'm the pheasant plucker's son,
And I'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant pluckers come.
It’s not pleasant plucking pheasants when you’re a pheasant plucker’s mate.
2. Out of everyone to go through Australian Idol, you’ve gone on to not only eclipse every winner - but also cross the seven seas and begin an offensive on the British music scene. Do you ever get a little overwhelmed by everything that’s happened to you over the past few years?
I try not to. There is so much work to do. Having a career to deal with I haven’t got much time to be overwhelmed.
3. If you could inhabit the body of any Rock star, just for a day, who would you take over and why?
Elvis because he was the King - but it would be a bit boring now.
4. If you could get strip any vacuous, famous for the sake of being famous celebrity of their notoriety – who would be on your hit list?
Nobody. Whatever cards they deserve they’ll get dealt.
5. How would you sum up your latest album - What Matters The Most, in seven words or less?
The best of what I have offered.
6. And now in as many words as you like – tell us all bout it!
Lots of guitar lines and big melodies. It’s mainly a positive album with meaningful lyrics. There is too much negativity in the music industry these days so a bit of positivity can only help. I’m very proud of it.
7. If you could play a very private gig with a select audience of celebrities and the people important to you, who’d get an invite? (It’s like the dinner party guest question but better)
Friends and family. They’re the ones that mean the most to me.
8. Twitter or Facebook?
Facebook.
9. What’s been your most awkward celebrity encounter so far?
Well, I was star struck when I met Basil Brush. That was awkward.
10. And finally Kath and Kim or Gavin and Stacey?
Kath and Kim.
