The event aims to promote inspirational music from spiritual traditions around the world and to create a greater understanding between people of different cultures. Though the bulk of the performances take part in October, the festival will officially kick off on September 11 with a performance of Qawwali - the powerful music of the mystic Sufis - of Pakistan and India.
