Colourful Camden in North London

Camden has long been a haven for London’s artistic souls, a mass congregation of writers, musicians and visual artists; this is where you will find some of the most colourful people the city has to offer with their pink dreads and day-glow t-shirts. There are more tattoo and piercing studios than anywhere else in the city, a live venue to satisfy every musical palate, a multi-cultural smorgasbord of cuisine and more than enough pubs, clubs, and bars to keep you perpetually entertained. In the centre of all this action you’ll find St. Christopher’s Camden hostel.

What you can find in in Camden

During the daylight hours Camden Market is the place to get lost while finding just about anything from anywhere. Comprised of six sprawling markets dotting the high street, Camden Markets will reveal a plethora of fashion, arts, crafts, furniture, international food and drink, antiques, jewellery, music and souvenirs. So many treasures, you’ll definitely want to take a full day to explore it all.

Situated conveniently between Camden Town and Mornington Crescent tube stations, city central St. Christopher’s is within minutes of all the must see tourist attractions. Not sure where to start, our fun-loving staff will be brimming with ideas on how to make the most of your London adventure. And when you’ve had enough of the big city rush make yourself at home in our relaxed chill out room, fully equipped with TV, internet couches and cushions.

St. Christopher’s resident watering hole is a very busy Belushi’s bar. This is the place for live sports on the big screen, great pub menu, cheap drink specials and all your favourite music.

What's on in February

February is a sport fanatic’s paradise. And Belushi’s will have all the action with the Six Nations Rugby Tournament and the 2006 winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. And exclusively at Belushi’s Camden you can watch Superbowl Sunday, North America’s premiere sporting event. More than just a football game, this is an entertainment extravaganza. The fun kicks off at 22:00 on Sunday February 05 and takes you right through to the wee early hours of Monday morning. The licence has been extended to give fans a really Superbowl party atmosphere with food and drinks being served all night long.

Musically speaking, there is no better place for live music than Camden town. Popular venues like Koko's (formerly Camden Palace), Underworld, and the Electric Ballroom, are the places to see the stars of tomorrow. A few of the must see acts for February are Little Man Tate (Barfly 02.21.06); Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (Koko’s 02.10.06); and the living legend that is Richie Havens (Jazz Café, 02.13-15.06).
