December, albeit a chilly month, has many fun events and activities in Newquay that can brighten up your holiday season. From Christmas lights to Father Christmas, there are plenty of events in Cornwall’s favourite destination city - ready and waiting to tickle your fancy.

Christmas at Newquay Zoo - December 10 and 11, 2011

If you appreciate ringing in the holiday season with jubilant light displays, then you surely won’t want to miss Christmas at Newquay Zoo. On December 10 and 11 the zoo will be transformed into a radiant wonderland. If you come along you can expect to find illuminated walkways, twinkling icicle lights and animal shapes comprised of, you guessed it, lights! This merry event will also feature Santa and his elves in a grotto.

Newquay’s 12 Days of Christmas - December 13 to 24, 2011

Christmas is always better when you can stretch it out for nearly a fortnight! Newquay’s 12 Days of Christmas is the yuletide event that can easily fit the bill. If you take part, you should expect to find arts and crafts, children’s activities, live entertainment and much more. Best of all, it’s completely free to attend!

New Year’s Fancy Dress Carnival - December 31, 2011

Newquay takes its New Year’s Eve festivities very seriously. Seriously fun that is so come along and take part in Newquay’s, New Year’s Fancy Dress Carnival. You are welcome to attend whether you’re dressed to the nines, or done up as your favourite superhero, so ring in 2012 with the merriment that only a costume can supply. You’ll find that Newquay is the place to be in Cornwall to sing Auld Lang Syne at midnight!
