The Newquay Zoo Christmas Lights ‐ December 5, 2009
If you appreciate ringing in the holiday season with jubilant light displays, then you won’t want to miss the Christmas Lights at Newquay Zoo. On Saturday December 5, 2009, the zoo will be transformed into a radiant wonderland. Expect to find illuminated walkways, twinkling icicle lights and animal shapes made out of, yes that’s right, lights! The merry event begins at 16.30 and the last entry is at 16.00 ‐ so you might want to arrive early.
Father Christmas’s Grotto ‐ December 5 to 6, 2009
Father Christmas is going to be in Newquay on the weekend of December 5 and 6, 2009! Whether you’re a child or merely a child at heart, you’re sure to enjoy seeing Father Christmas at the Trenance Cottages! Various activities including face painting and craft workshops will be available at the cottages between 11.00 and 16.00. There’s a small fee per child if you wish to have a gift included.
Newquay Jazz and Ale Festival ‐ December 18 to 20, 2009
Traditionally carols and jingle bells are synonymous with Christmas but many music fans also welcome the addition of jazz to their yuletide soundtrack! This is very much the case at the Newquay Jazz and Ale Festival where you will find over 40 ales available for your enjoyment, with the best live Jazz and Blues bands in the background. If you want to head along then seek out Chy Bar and Koola Bar.
New Year’s Fancy Dress Carnival ‐ December 31, 2009
Newquay takes its New Year’s Eve festivities very seriously – seriously fun that is. Come and take part in Newquay’s New Year’s Fancy Dress Carnival ‐ where you’re welcome if you’re dressed to the nines or even like your favourite superhero. Ring in the New Year with the merriment that only a spot of costume clad escapism ‐ can supply. Whatever you do ‐ you’ll find Newquay is the place in Cornwall to be to seen singing Auld Lang Syne at midnight!
