Suckers Weekend at Blue Reef Aquarium - February 19 – 27, 2011
Is it octopus, octopuses, or octopi? Don’t despair if you don’t know the proper plural, there is much more to learn about octopuses at the Blue Reef Aquarium during the half-term, school holiday week. Suckers Weekend will give you a chance to be in close proximity to octopuses and other members of the cephalopod class. The exhibit features the giant Pacific octopus as well as nautiluses. These prolific members of the deep sea have suction cupped tentacles that will leave you amazed. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about octopuses and experience life forms that are seldom seen.
Rainforest Time Quest at the Eden Project - February 19 – 27, 2011
When it comes to experiencing a rainforest, you needn’t travel to the Amazon. During half-term week, the Eden Project is hosting Rainforest Time Quest. The more you venture forth into the rainforest, the more you’ll discover about virtual time travel. Your journey through time and the jungle gives you the opportunity to be greeted by dinosaurs, meet explorers and learn about rainforest flora (and its preservation). Rainforest Time Quest is included with the admission price, so come to the Eden Project’s biome for a rainforest adventure!
