Fish Stock Taking at the Blue Reef Aquarium - January 8 to 9, 2011
Sign up to help out with the Fish Stock Taking event at the aquarium, located right in Newquay on Towan Promenade. That is if you fancy something that's a little bit different. Once a year, the public is invited to help the aquarium count how many of the many different kinds of fish - there are - cruising through the tanks.
Yaki Weekend at Newquay Zoo - January 15 to 16, 2011
There's no celebration of Macaque monkeys quite like the Yaki Weekend at Newquay Zoo. Enjoy activities such as face painting and mask making (Macaque themed of course) as you learn what Macaque monkeys are all about, why they are endangered, and what efforts are out there to help protect them, and their environments.
Also as of January 15, 2010, the Sulawesi Story Trail will be officially open so you can enjoy a stroll along this educational path. Sulawesi Crested Black Macaques are just one of the many monkey species, but they're specially featured on this trail.
The Original Tribute to the Blues Brothers - January 18 to 22, 2011
With some of the original West End cast members as well as some new players, The Original Tribute to the Blues Brothers is coming to Hall for Cornwall in Back Quay, Truro - a spot in Cornwall that's about 30 minutes away from Newquay by car.
Expect new songs, new sets, a seven-piece band to back up the fabulous singing and some pretty snazzy dancing. Shows are at 19.30 on January 18, 19, and 20, 20.30 on January 21, and 16.00 and 20.00 on January 22, 2011. Tickets will cost you between 12 and 24 Pounds.
