Summer time and the living's easy! As things heat up in the cities it's time to escape to the beautiful beaches - along the south coast of England. There's absolutely nothing like passing the day away on the beach and Newquay has plenty to offer, for both water enthusiasts and beach bums.

Quicksilver King of the Groms Competition - July 5 and 6, 2008

The King of the Groms is a global competition that spans five continents and this summer you can see dozens of young surfers compete for the title on Newquay's Fistral Beach. If you're in Newquay then head down to see the kids most likely to be the next generation professional surfers.

Substance Premier - July 6, 2008

Come on out for the movie premier of this British and Irish surf movie in Newquay. The film was shot entirely in Britain and Ireland and claims to feature some of the best waves and best surfing ever captured on the British Isles. It features many local surfers and the premier should be good too! Look out for posters.

Surf 7's International Rugby Tournament - July 18 to 20, 2008

Over 60 local and professional seven-a-side rugby teams will be battling it out to see who can win the top prize. There are several internationally renowned teams facing off for the £10,000 main prize and the teams will participate in five separate tournaments. These cater for all standards - from local club sides, through to the best sevens rugby teams in the country.

White Stuff Surf Relief Day - July 25 to 26, 2008

This charity surf and music festival is held to raise funds for Surf UK - an organization dedicated to helping disabled and disadvantaged young people experience surfing. This beach music and surf festival will be held in Watergate Bay, surfing competitions take place on both Friday and Saturday and there's an all day music event on the Saturday too. Come on out for a great day on the beach filled with music!
