Newquay Events June 2008

Now that long summer days are leading to hot summer nights, Newquay has everything for a perfect vacation away from home. Its reputation for world-class surfing, stag and hen parties, and breathtakingly rugged scenery allow any visitor to walk away with an incredible experience. Just ride the wave and enjoy all that Newquay has to offer you!

Five Newquay Must Dos

  1. Fish and Chips at Truscott's. Just turn left as you walk out of St Christopher's and less than a block away is the most delicious dinner. The place has been in Newquay for over 37 years and is described by locals as: “the best damn fish ever.”
  2. A walk on Fistral Beach. A 15 minute walk up the road lands you on Fistral Beach - with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the world famous surfing waves. If you're brave don't just walk along the beach - rent a board and go out there!  There's a reason Newquay holds the title of Surfing Capital of Britain!
  3. Cream tea at Pauline's tea shop. This is situated in the heart of Cornwall and every visitor to Newquay absolutely must have one of the famous Cornish cream teas. Pauline's has just the right homey atmosphere too.
  4. A pint at Belushi's. It doesn't get any easier than walking down the stairs to one of the best pubs in Newquay. Frequented by both locals and tourists, the bar comes to life at night and features both local bands, and excellent music.
  5. A romantic stroll on the cliffs by the Headland Hotel. The rugged beauty of the staggering cliffs combined with the regal Victorian hotel, creates an almost magical walk along Cornwall's fabled coastline.
