Over in Bruges events are also going wild as the quirky New Year traditions continues. Here visitors can welcome 2010 with a chorus of Carillon bells! Convention dictates that the final hours of 2009 be spent in the company of a bulging crowd, in Grote Markt Square. As everyone gets slowly caked with snow, the night builds towards the Carillon bells. The bells chime in the New Year and leave the audience to party on, into the night.
