Deepdale Backpackers Backpackers Hostel, Campsite and Tipis

Looking for something a little different to do while travelling? Why not try the beautiful north Norfolk coast, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ less than 2 hours from London.

Deepdale Backpackers is converted 16th Century chalk and flint barns centred around a BBQ courtyard. Fully equipped kitchen, sitting room with woodburner and underfloor heating throughout the hostel. The hostel offers private and dorm rooms and there is camping for small campervans and tents. For something completely different try a Tipi (Teepee or Wigman to some), they sleep 6 and have a wood burner, faux fur mattresses and a BBQ outside. The whole site is environmentally friendly.

People come to stay for two reasons, to be active or to relax. For the active there is the great outdoors. For those who want to relax there is a chilled out hostel, great pubs and beautiful beaches.

The coast is superb for watersports both for the beginner and the more experienced. Beaches like West Runton offer good surfing for the purists, and all the beaches offer great kite surfing, windsurfing and body boarding. Meander your way along the salt water creakes in a canoe or kayak, explore the Wash in a yacht or visit one of the many sand spit islands around the coast.

With a mixture of national paths, local footpaths and stewardship access walkers will find plenty of miles to wander and we have a tourist information centre at the hostel who can supply you maps and guide books. National Cycle Route 1, 12, 13 and 30 are all close by and Norfolk offers a wealth of quiet country lanes to discover.

There may not be a large selection of nightclubs (none actually), but there are superb pubs, many with their own breweries and seafood in abundance.
