The hostel is home to The Bald Barista Café , operated by Buzz Fendall, a man with a mission to: “bring amazing coffee to Dublin.” He’s doing just that because the café has won The Best Espresso in Dublin 2008 and 2009 awards.

Our hostel is located in the heart of Dublin city centre making us the most ideally located hostel in Dublin. Really, if it’s not raining torrentially and you can walk, you should!

Dublin is very pedestrian friendly so simply grab a free map at reception, some comfy shoes and a poncho! It’s really quite compact and Dubliners are happy to give directions too.

We are within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions in Dublin. You can shop all day on Dublin’s main retail strip (Grafton Street), enjoy the scenery in one of Europe’s most beautiful parks (St Stephen’s Green), relax in the vast selection of restaurants and end the night with a few pints in Dublin’s Temple Bar. All this is on your doorstep ‐ just minutes away from Avalon House.

Why not try the free walking tour that picks up at Avalon House every morning at 10.45am and remember to show your St Christopher’s Inns ‐ Beds & Bars Card at check in to get 10% off the first night of your stay.
