Belushi's Box

Rock Paper Scissors. No one knows for sure the exact origin of this world famous game. Some say it dates back to Japan in 200 BC, some to the evolution of the opposable thumb. There are even those that will tell you it was a deciding factor in the battle of Yorktown during the American Revolution. Well whatever version you believe, it’s true ‐ we’ve been using RPS for generations to decide some of life’s more crucial decisions, from who’s making the late night trip to the shop, to who buys the first round.

Now thanks to Belushi’s and Kronenbourg you can use your skills to win a whole stack of prizes, including a £1000 jackpot! This coming May Bank Holiday, we’ll be holding our first, annual Rock Paper Scissors Tournament at every Belushi’s bar across the UK. The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 and the stakes are huge.

On Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 6pm sharp, contestants in all of our Belushi’s bars in London, Edinburgh, Newquay, Bath and Brighton will commence play. Registered players will battle a rival picked at random and the winner will stay on to the final ‐ to fight it out in one of the fiercest sporting events ever seen in the UK!

The prizes up for grabs include:

• Trips for two to our European hostels
• £25 bar tabs
• Meals for you and a friend at any of our bars
• Exclusive VIP membership to our Belushi’s club

Plus the winner from each venue will go on to play in the final ‐ in Paris on June 12, with accommodation and travel costs paid for by us, plus a chance to win a £1000 prize!

As if that’s not enough excitement, on April 24, 2010 Boy George ‐ international DJ and all round star will be playing at the Belushi’s in London Bridge! Advance tickets are just £10 from wegottickets.com and we’ll be open until 4am, so it’s going to be a big one. Remember though, no ID ‐ no entry and a sharp dress sense is essential. This is Boy George after all.

Meanwhile on April 30, 2010, why not come and meet the stars of AFL in the UK, with the season launch party ‐ also at our London Bridge site. For £5 entry, with all proceeds going to the very worth while Fred Hollows Foundation, this is set to be a great night with raffle tickets included and great prizes to be given away!
