Belushi's Box

Fiery Food

August is the hottest month of the year and we’re not just talking about the weather. This month every Belushi’s in the UK will be taking part in our Fiery Food Festival. We’ve taken inspiration from Adam Richman – a man who travels America taking on various and worrying challenges. Check out his Spicy Tuna Roll Challenge on You Tube!

Fiery Food Festival

Now, we haven’t gone quite so far as these chefs but we do challenge you to take on our Fiery Burger Challenge ‐ an extra hot take on our famous Belushi’s burger, laced with chilli’s and Tabasco, topped with jalapenos and chilli cheese, and served with fries and chips (to take off the edge a little). Anyone that can finish one of these bad boys is automatically in with a chance to win £500, as well as our unfailing respect.

We’ve also added a few spicy takes to some of our classics, including Chilli Beans on Toast, fiery Spaghetti and Meatballs, and even a limited edition Chilli Chocolate Cheese Cake, so be sure to pay us a visit before September arrives.

The Football is Back

With the excitement of the World Cup all over and done with, mourning fans needn’t worry as it won’t be long until the football once again graces our screens ‐ with the Premiership cup kicking off on August 14. In the bars we’ve had a mixed reaction to news that Vuvezelas have been banned by the premiership clubs ‐ some people love them and some hate them with a quite a passion. Personally we found the whole debate quite funny, but let us know what you think in the comment box below!

Notting Hill Carnival

One of the most enjoyable weekends of the year is coming up at the end of August – Notting Hill Carnival. This is without a doubt one of the most fun carnivals in London! This year be sure to visit the Sancho Panza and Aba Shanti stages, then if you’re on the look out for an after party, take the short walk to Belushi’s in Shepherd’s Bush to continue the madness with a late opening, and live music.

Charity Time

As we’ve said before, this year we’re working closely with partner charity Just A Drop who work to provide clean and accessible water in developing countries (have a look at www.justadrop.org for more details). On the 7th of August Belushi’s in Hammersmith will be throwing a Fancy Dress Pyjama Party to raise money (£1 entry to those in their PJs and £4 to everyone else).

We’ll be putting on a raffle too so you can win 2 nights in beautiful Bath, with travel thrown in (Terms & Conditions apply), a £25 bar tab, or a meal for two at any of our bars. Later on in the month Belushi’s in Shepherd’s Bush are throwing a weekend long Beach Party to celebrate the summer season with a late party license from Friday August 20 to Sunday August 22 with live music, prizes, giveaways, cocktail specials and a BBQ on the patio.

Also on Sunday August 29 our Belushi’s in Greenwich are holding their first ever Table Tennis Knockout Competition - with proceeds going toward Just A Drop. Starting at 16.00. There’ll be live music from The Cellar Family and Mandelson, along with plenty of drinks deals.

Brighton Pride

Finally Saturday August 7 is Pride Parade in Brighton which kicks off from Madeira Drive next to Brighton Pier at 11 and ends up with a huge party in nearby Preston Park, complete with dance tents, fun fairs, stalls and some very silly fun. The Pride Parade route is lined with thousands of people every year, so get there early to ensure you bag yourself a good spot. Have a little look at this for some clues as to what to expect! and we will be throwing a special party at Belushi’s ‐ right on the sea front with Electro and funky house until the early morning. I’ll be seeing you there!
