The Flying Pig Beach Hostel
The Flying Pig Beach Hostel is located on the Dutch Riviera in the middle of a 13km stretch of flat sandy beaches and sand dunes. It’s also in the fashionable surfing town of Noordwijk - crammed with clubs, bars, restaurants and designer clothes stores.
The Beach Hostel is renowned the world over for its friendly staff, wild atmosphere, professional standards of service and for offering travellers a safe, and secure environment where they can relax, and really engage backpacker life. In fact you’ll be part of the piggy family from the moment you check in to The Flying Pig Beach Hostel!
On the spacious ground level of the hostel you’ll find the cheapest booze in town served at the famous Beach Hostel Surf Bar and a fully equipped kitchen that stays open until 10pm. There’s also a dedicated smoking room, an outdoor sun terrace, a pool table and even a giant film projector screen showing the best movies Hollywood ever dared to commission.
Here at The Flying Pig Beach Hostel you can choose from an array of modern dormitory rooms or cosy private rooms, each with en-suite facilities or adjacent to private shower rooms. On arrival guests get a security safe in their room, and each morning a free continental breakfast is served at the Surf Bar, where guests can also purchase home cooked meals - every evening. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel, and there’s free internet access with our guest computer.
Whilst staying at The Flying Pig Beach Hostel you can choose to do as much or as little as you please. Surfing, Kite Surfing, Mini-Golf and a 12km Mountain Bike course are located within metres of the hostel. If you need to arrange equipment hire or tuition then we can take care of everything for you. In the summer you can join in the hotly contested, weekly staff versus guests soccer matches or head down to the beach for a game of volleyball. In the winter time there’s plenty to do too, with a sub-tropical swimming pool and sauna, and an indoor bowling alley just metres from the hostel. In the city of Den-Hag - a short bus journey from Noordwijk - you’ll find an indoor ski-dome, indoor Go-Karting and an indoor Ice-Skating rink open all year round.
Guests are connected to Amsterdam by our shuttle service that runs up to four times a day between the beach and The Flying Pig Uptown, The Flying Pig Downtown, and Schipol Airport. The shuttle service is fast, cheap and convenient. Better yet upon check-in and check-out, the shuttle is free! The historic cities of Den Haag (The Hague), Leiden and Haarlem are only a short bus journey away and are jam-packed with culture, night life and coffeeshops.
After a full on day down at the beach or in the water you can chill out with our Happy Hour, which runs from 8pm to 9pm every night of the week, so grab a beer for €2.50 and a glass of wine for €1, and mosey on down to the beach to watch the sun plunge into the North Sea - amongst a carnival of warming shades and colours. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a moonlit stroll along the sand and a wonderful way to end another day on one of Europe’s most famous blue flag beaches.
