Museumsuferfest Frankfurt: Not Just a Cultural Experience
Planning on travelling through (or near) Frankfurt soon? There’s no better time than the end of summer in the multicultural hub that is Frankfurt!
Frankfurt likes any excuse to party: holidays, Christmas, parades … and the Museumsuferfest is no different. Translated literally to: “Museum’s Riverbank Party” - the festival is the perfect mix of culture and festivity. The event makes the most of the beautiful skyline and the riverbanks that stretch their way through the heart of the city. For three-days, the museums keep their doors open well into the night, whilst live performances and DJ sets entertain on the outside.
It would be an understatement to say that there is something for everyone. The history, culture and art from the museums flows right out on to the streets. Here you can find artisan stalls with their latest creations, dance shows and local and international musicians.
The Museumsuferfest takes place once a year, and each year a different country is featured. This year, the theme is Indonesia. Thus, many of the dance and music shows will be featuring Indonesian culture.
Naturally where there’s a party, there’s good food and drink. Numerous restaurants and caterers have their delicious delicacies on offer for you to try. This year you can expect many an Indonesian specialty, not to mention some tasty cocktails to boot!
The festival stretches across the whole weekend, finishing at midnight on Sunday. And you’ll definitely want to stay until the very end, as there are some astounding fireworks to round the whole thing off. Not only this, but you get to experience another of Europe’s Famous Hostels by setting up camp with us here at Five Elements Hostel.
We’ll be taking out groups each day, and will help you to navigate the festival programme so that you can tailor your Museumsuferfest experience to suit you best.
