This is one of our favourite steak restaurants in London for affordable, juicy steak that costs considerably less than other steak joints in the city. A little more off the beaten track, this is a local hang out where you won’t find many tourists. You can choose from three different sauces: bernaise, chimichurri of our personal favourite peppercorn. The peppercorn sauce here is the best in London because the peppery flavour isn’t too overwhelming; a perfectly balanced sauce. With it’s warm, cosy atmosphere and selection of steaks to try, any meat lover will be obsessed with Roxies. We love the fillet steak that costs £14.50 for 175 grams. Most nice restaurants around London charge about £20 or more for a fillet so this is great value. The medallions are also worth a try for £12.
The sides are droolworthy: we recommend the creamed spinach, sesame soy beans or truffle mac n’ cheese. Perfect for a date night, a meal with friends or a birthday dinner Roxie’s is a great place for all occasions. Roxie has six locations in London including Fulham, Putney, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Twickenham and Clapham.
This well-known steak restaurant in the heart of London has customers returning again and again to make the most of the low prices. Their deliciously tender Flat Iron steaks only cost £10. If you haven’t tried a flat iron steak before, you should do immediately. Flat iron is steak cut with the grain from the shoulder of the cow making it extra flavoursome and more-ish. With eight different locations in central city locations, you’ll never find yourself too far from a Flat Iron. With branches in Soho, Oxford Circus, Shoreditch, London Bridge, King’s Cross and Oxford Circus, this steak joint makes food lovers smile every day with its top-notch affordable steaks, delicious sides and four different sauces to choose from. This restaurant doesn’t take reservations, only walk-ins so make sure to get there early enough so you don’t have to stand in a long queue of Flat Iron fans.
This great value steak house is highly rated with three different locations in London (Shoreditch, Soho and The City). Blacklock’s menu is perfect for a stylish dinner out in the Big Smoke that’s friendly to your wallet - especially if you go on Monday’s where you can get big chops at butcher prices - so much cheaper!
The cool thing about the Blacklock restaurants is that they’re all set in interesting buildings. The original restaurant in Soho is actually located in the basement of a former brothel. The Shoreditch branch is in an old industrial furniture factory and the City restaurant near Monument station is in a Grade II listed building on the grounds of London’s first ever meat market. Appropriate since Blacklock is known for serving up some of the best steaks in the city. We recommend trying the Garlic Marrow Spread for your steak dressing - it’s divine. All of the meat here is reared and dry aged on the bone in a small family farm in Cornwall.
Up in My Grill at Street Feast Dinerama
This street food experience is the coolest in London. Located in hipster Shoreditch, Street Feast Dinerama is a young hang out where foodies swarm for an evening of socialising, eating and drinking. This place adops eat while you stand culture where you can try the different cuisines at a selection of food and drink vendors. With stand out food from all over the world, we have to note how good the steak is. The Up in My Grill counter serves up some of the most tender, perfectly pink steak in true Argentinian style. So what do you get on your plate? A medium rare rump cap served with homemade chimichurri, oregano fries and malbec-glazed shallots. So tasty. The atmosphere is always buzzing at Dinerama so if you’re in the mood for great steak, a buzzing atmosphere and a real taste of where young Londoners hang out, get yourself here.
Cheap steaks and cocktails are two of our favourite things in life - and you can get your fix at Meat People in Islington. Your your new go-to meat stop, the steaks here are great value for money. For 100g, a sirloin costs £10, a rib eye is £10.50 and a fillet is £11.50. The cheap price means more money to spend on delicious sides (we love the cauliflower gratin and sweet potato fries). Fancy sharing? You can get a hearty 500g Flat Cut Sharer for £53 which serves about three people. The sauce selection includes Salsa Criolla, Peppercorn, Béarnaise, Blue Cheese and Chimichurri. The lunch menu is also amazing where you can order a tasty steak and Chips for £9.95 from 12pm - 4pm Monday to Friday!
