They are especially well known for their amazing ‘Super Cookies’, offering a mouth watering experience of gooey centres and an overloading of warm melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. Maison Carton, located just a couple of minutes away from our Gare du Nord hostel is famous for its finger-licking homemade patisseries and excellent quality food. Not only are they homemade but they are also bio! Whether you’re looking for bread or something sweeter like a tart or pain au chocolat - Maison Carton offer nothing but the best! It will become one of your favourite bakeries in no time...

We recommend popping in before getting your Eurostar home (as it's around the corner from the station) so you can enjoy a little taste of Paris for your journey back. We'd go for the raspberry macaron or the apple tart, both are divine!

This small bakery owned by Christophe Vasseur is the best place to go if you want to try out some typical French viennoiseries. Whether you want breakfast on the go or just a cheeky snack this place is popular for it’s amazing croissants and fresh crusty bread. It's rustic, charming and delightful inside. Flavours of certain breads change with the season here. One of their flavours being pistachio and chocolate (pictured above)!

And of course, we cannot forget the world famous La Duree for the finest macaroons you’ll find in the world. The brand was born in Paris, so where else to test out the different flavours than the home of La Durée macarons. The whole cafe is an experience in itself...not to be missed. If you're walking through the Marais district you may come across this little gem, Pain de Sucre. Here you'll find multicoloured marshmallows, unusual flavours you won't find anywhere else and unique patisseries. The desserts here are simply amazing and super inventive. We recommend the chocolate and coconut marshmallow. The area Marais itself is a MUST when you're in Paris so while you're exploring this beautiful area, treat yourself at Pain de Sucre.
