Want to know where to get the best vegan food in Berlin? The German capital's vegan scene is booming right now, with plant-based restaurants and food stalls popping up left, right and centre. Vegan pizza, vegan curry, vegan dumplings, pretty much vegan everything is now served up somewhere in the German capital - you can even get vegan currywurst! We’ve scouted out the tastiest vegan spots in Berlin, so if you’re after an amazing plant-based meal during your trip, you know where to find the best of the best that won't break the bank.

Looking for somewhere fun and affordable to stay in Berlin? Check out two city centre locations

LIA’S KITCHEN

Kollwitzstraße 47, 10405 Berlin, Germany

Lia’s Kitchen is splendid vegan cafe in Berlin that even carnivores will love. The burgers here are simply some of the best vegan burgers you’ll find in the city and they are served with a hefty portion of fries and vegan slaw. What’s not to love? Everything served at Lia’s Kitchen is 100% vegan and it’s a light, airy space to enjoy a meal. In the summer, indulge in your burgers in the outdoor garden. This place might be small but it serves up delicious yet massive salads too!

LUCKY LEEK

Kollwitzstraße 54, 10405 Berlin, Germany

A lovely lunch spot in the summer, Lucky Leek is a sophisticated vegan restaurant that boasts an outdoor seating area in Kollwitzkiez. This is an affordable fine dining vegan experience where you can enjoy a tasty 3 course meal for €36 or have a beautifully presented main meal on its own for €19. While this is the priciest option on the list, if you’re looking for a vegan restaurant to book for a special occasion, then Lucky Leek is for you. The desserts will tempt you; try the vegan crème brûlée cheesecake! This place is just a 14 minute walk from the St Christopher’s Inns hostel.

VONER

Boxhagener Str. 56, 10245 Berlin

Did you know that vegan doner kebabs are a thing? We didn’t either - that’s until we stumbled across Voner on Boxhagener Street. The Voner kebabs are roasted on a spit, just how they’re cooked in your average kebab joint, but don’t be weirded out if you’re a little squeamish about vegan ‘meat’ as they taste nothing like the real thing - just a seriously delicious vegan meal. Us vegans don’t even have to miss out on currywurst in Berlin anymore! The vegan version of the classic German dish isn’t served up in many places apart from here, so if it’s an authentic taste of the country’s cuisine you’re after, Voner is your answer!

TWO PLANETS

Hermannstraße 230, 12053 Berlin

Two Planets is a vegan’s perfect brunch spot. Again, the menu isn’t entirely vegan, but it’s plant-based options are insane and super Instagrammable! Whatever you choose, expect a bowl bursting with colour, looking too good to eat, to arrive in front of you. Two Planets pride themselves on their “dope ass toast” and “damn fine coffee”, and they’re not wrong! The avocado toast whipped up here is a dream… You’ve got to taste it to believe us.

MOMOS

Chausseestraße 2, 10115 Berlin

Momos is famous in Berlin for the tastiest veggie and vegan dumplings around. The actual restaurant is only small with a simple selection of 6 different dumpling options on the menu. 4 out of the 6 options are vegan (the rest vegetarian), making Momos a perfect place to pop into for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. We recommend going for the mix of vegan dumplings, which will come either steamed or fried and stuffed with fillings such as mushroom and potato or pumpkin and chickpea.

CAT TUONG

Kastanienallee 89, 10435 Berlin

For a cozy atmosphere, quick service and deliciously authentic Vietnamese food that’s also vegan, Cat Tuong is perfect. This little eatery in north Berlin is like a taste of Vietnam. Their pho soup and dim sum is to die for as are their mi quang noodles. Even real meat-eaters find themselves absolutely loving this place, and yet it’s still such a hidden vegan gem in the city! If you’re in the mood for some southeast Asian flavours, head up to Cat Tuong - your tastebuds will thank you for it!
