7 Quirky Spots to Hit in Shoreditch This Summer

Located in the centre of bustling East London, Shoreditch is packed with quirky, unique things to do (and eat). We went down for a whole day to test out what Shoreditch has to offer - and it’s safe to say it’s the ultimate playground for foodies, drinkers and adventure seekers. Shoreditch, you’ve stolen our soul. From ice cream to ping pong and cocktails with a view, here are some of our favourite tried-and-tested spots to visit whilst exploring the area.

Shoreditch (Old Street station) is only one tube stop away from  and better yet just an eight-minute walk…

1. NANA BAR

45 Charlotte Road, Shoreditch

Do you love ice cream but hate how unhealthy it is for you? Then this is the perfect place for vegans to satisfy their sweet tooth. Nana bar’s ice cream is made from frozen bananas (so no dairy) and is served with nutritious whole food toppings. It’s ice cream but good for you! On top of that, this cool  ice cream bar offers a multiple range of different toppings offering new flavours everyday - when we went it was serving pina colada flavour! This hidden gem is situated only seven minutes from Old Street station, and it’s just opened so get the know before everyone else does. We guarantee it will be a craze come August. Open everyday from 9am until 9pm.

2. BOX PARK

Fancy a day of eating, drinking and shopping in the sun? Then Box Park is the place to go to satisfy all these needs. There are many different independent pop-ups from clothing shops, bookshops and even travel shops! A lot of shopping can make you hungry and thirsty, but no worries. You can head up to Boxpark’s rooftop bar that offers both different varieties of food and drink! From street fries with crazy toppings to Greek food and bubble waffles from Nosteagia there’s nothing that won’t satisfy your taste buds. A very relaxing place to go during the day and a good place to go in the evening if you want to have a drink and enjoy a night out with friends and family.

3. BOUNCE

Located in Old Street, Bounce is only a three-minute walk from the station. This ping pong bar is a perfect place to go to with some friends, your family or even with some colleagues after work. Enjoy a night out trying some of their best beers and delicious cocktails whilst challenging your friends to a game of ping pong and listening to some awesome music offered to you by their DJ. You may also get chosen by the staff to participant in a fun tournament where you could potentially win a prize. So, if you’re looking for a bar with a twist, this is the one to come to.

4. CEREAL KILLER CAFE

Begin or end your day in this cereal killer café in Shoreditch. This remarkable café offers over 120 different flavours of cereals and milk from all over the world, and, if that’s not enough for you, you can add some extra toppings to your breakfast such as cookie dough bites, bananas or even marshmallows. Delicious right? Open everyday from 8am until 8pm you can enjoy your breakfast at any time during the day. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! If Cereal isn’t your thing, don’t threat! Cereal Killer café also offers some unbelievable stacked hot chocolates and Maltshakes that you don’t want to miss out on!

5. THE SLOANE BROS

214 Brick Ln, London E1 6SA

Just across the street from the “Cereal Killer Café”, the Sloane Brothers is a frozen yoghurt company which offers you some delicious and healthy frozen yoghurt. Sloane Brothers sell four delicious key flavours: Natural yoghurt, Chocolate, Berries and Dulce de Leche. To add to your frozen delights Sloane Brothers gives you the option to pick from a huge selection of toppings such as brownies and biscuits, or, if you’re looking for something a little healthier they also offer fresh fruits or nuts. This cool spot is the ideal place to go for a quick break on a sunny summery day.

We recommend: Dulce de Leche with granola and fruit toppings.

6. THE MAGIC ROUNDABOUT (PICTURED AT THE TOP)

Old Street Roundabout, London EC1Y 1BE

Located in the middle of a roundabout accessed via a staircase inside old street tube station, the whereabouts of this rooftop bar makes it a place that you need to tick off your bucket list. Open from 7am until 11pm (slightly different hours on the weekend) , this is a great place to spend your day enjoying a nice glass of Pimms during the summer or appreciating the nice warm taste of a burger with a beer beer after work. The magic roundabout also hosts many fun summer events such as the magic allstars (July 7th), the rooftop summer sessions 002 (July 8th), extended deep house showcase (July 10th) and many more so keep an eye out for any of their cool events that might tickle your fancy.

7. NAKED DOUGH

6 St Agnes Well, London EC1Y 1BE

If you fancy a sweet treat after enjoying the excellent burgers and chips from the Magic Roundabout then on your way home, head on down to Naked dough, a raw cookie dough cafe with many finger licking flavours with hilarious names such as ‘Ed Sheeran’, ‘Emoji Poos’ and ‘Unicorn Food’. It’s located inside Old Street tube station, so the perfect place to pick up your dough to end the day sweetly.

We recommend: Hazel’s nuts cookie dough

OTHER COOL SPOTS WE RECOMMEND (BECAUSE SHOREDITCH JUST HAS SO MANY AWESOME PLACES):
