Bambú

Right at the top of Bogatell Beach you’ll find one of our favourite spots in Barcelona with stunning sea views, some of the tastiest cocktails in the city and super chilled out vibes that could keep you there all day long. The cool, beachy decor and delicious food menu makes it ideal for relaxing in the day, but the second it hits sundown Bambu turns into an unreal night out, especially in the summer.

It might be a little further along the coast than other chiringuitos in Barcelona, but by bike it’s still only 20 minutes and completely worth the trip out of the city centre. Their signature and classic cocktails are all insanely delicious, just be warned that they come with the usual beach bar price tags, so they’re not the cheapest!

Xiringuito Escribà

Xiringuito Escriba is another buzzing spot by Bogatell beach. While they still rustle up some amazing cocktails, here, it’s more about the food - paella to be precise! The family run beach side restaurant prides itself on their recipe, so if you’re after somewhere in Barcelona to eat paella with a sea view, make this your first port of call. Just popping in for a drink? Do your best to grab a table at the front, order a carafe of their homemade sangria - red, white or cava - and enjoy it along with some amazing views over the Med.

Make sure you book a table in advance if you’re going for dinner, and weekend lunchtimes get pretty packed out, too.

La Deliciosa

La Deliciosa is as delicious as it sounds, and it’s smack bang in the middle of Barceloneta beach, the closest beach to the city centre. Lie back in a hammock with a cocktail in hand, and soak in the buzzing beachside atmosphere that La Deliciosa is famous for. Sink your toes into the sand and look out over the ocean, where you’re just a few metres from the shore.

The bar is pretty much entirely made out of second hand, recycled items, giving it the charming, vintage look that makes it so inviting. Get there for a morning coffee by the sea, or join excitable sun-seeking crowds for cocktails in the afternoon with a few tapas dishes.

Vai Moana

Another to add to the Bogatell Beach bar crawl, Vai Moana is like a tropical getaway. The tiki-style bar was designed with Easter Island in mind - the Polynesian island even inspired part of the food menu. Get there in the day to make the most of the little beach hut bar in the sunshine and sip on a strawberry daiquiri from one of their deck chairs on the sand.

Hungry? Order a few of their delicious tapas dishes, or opt for something more exotic like a Hawaiian poke bowl for a healthy lunch. The food and drinks aren’t the cheapest here, but it’s oh so worth the splurge for a refreshing drink while watching the tide come in.

Jefferson

Spend a few hours on a sunny day soaking up the atmosphere at Jefferson on the beach. In the day, the place gets packed with locals and tourists enjoying a freshly shaken cocktail, and at night the music turns up and it gets the atmosphere even more buzzing. From Jefferson, you’ll get incredible views over the beach and the Mediterranean sea, and some of the friendliest service on the beaches of Barcelona. Word on the street is they do one of the best mojitos in the city, but their sangria is also to die for.

Take a stroll along the beach, ending up at Jefferson for a drink and a bite to eat, or sunbathe on the sand nearby, heading up to the bar for a break from the sun and a refreshing cocktail.
