Three of our bars come with a few hundred years built in. A coaching inn on Borough High Street, a UNESCO listed building in Bruges, a handsome old corner of the City. None of that history makes them quiet. St Christopher’s Pub has live music most nights, The Bauhaus has seventy plus beers and a room full of locals and travellers, and The Flying Horse fills the moment work lets out. Authentic buildings, busy bars, right downstairs.

Made for staying out late These four are where our party hostels earn the name, and the bar downstairs is the easiest first stop you’ll make.
Barcelona
Two different nights sit side by side here. At the seafront, the beach clubs of Port Olímpic go until the sun is nearly up, big rooms opening onto the sand.
Amsterdam
The city makes going out easy. The bars and venues gather around two squares, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, so you move between them on foot and never need much of a plan.
Berlin
No city here takes the night more seriously than Berlin. The techno is the draw, Berghain the name everyone knows, its door policy half the legend, and a night out can lose all track of what day it has turned into.
London
London doesn’t have one scene; it has a dozen. Shoreditch for warehouse parties and rooftops, Soho for a night that drifts from bar to bar, Camden for live music and sticky floors with decades of history.
