St Christopher’s Inn Shepherd’s Bush

This West London base sits directly opposite Shepherd’s Bush tube station, with the Central Line and London Overground on your doorstep and Westfield London, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres, directly across the road. The O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, one of London’s most celebrated music venues, is a five-minute walk. For travellers flying via Heathrow, the Piccadilly line puts the airport around forty minutes away without crossing the city. What makes this one of the most well-located hostels in London is not nearby stations, it is what they give you access to. Notting Hill and Portobello Road are minutes away on foot. Holland Park is close. The Kensington museum cluster, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the V&A is reachable in minutes, and all three are free to enter.

Accessibility

You’ve arrived

Drop your bags at luggage storage and step outside. Westfield London, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres, is directly opposite. Useful for supplies, a first meal, or simply getting your bearings. Check in opens at 15:00, so you have plenty of time before your room is ready.

First adventures

Shepherd’s Bush Market runs along the railway arches five minutes from the hostel: a proper local market with street food, fabric stalls, and independent traders. Keep walking west and you hit Notting Hill and Portobello Road. Neither costs anything to wander and both are worth your afternoon.

A night at Belushi’s

Belushi’s is downstairs and it is where the evening starts. Live music, open mic nights, karaoke, and private HD screen booths for sport, plus a food menu built around burgers, wings, and sharing platters. Book direct and your first drink is on us. Locals drink here as often as guests.

Morning two

Breakfast is available at the hostel and worth adding to your booking before you arrive, you will pay less than on the door. A proper start to the day before the Central Line takes you wherever you have decided to go next.

What comes next…

Head east on the Central Line for Shoreditch and Brick Lane. Go south for the South Bank and Tate Modern. Walk to the Natural History Museum or the V&A, both free, both close. Or spend a morning at Portobello Road market and see where the afternoon takes you. There is no shortage of next moves from here.

Welcome

Your first 24 hours at Shepherd’s Bush

Whether you are after a social mixed dorm, the reassurance of a female-only room, or the privacy of a single, double, or twin en-suite, there is a room here that fits the way you travel. Every option is designed to give you what you need; a good night’s sleep and somewhere to come back to after a long day in west London.

Belushi’s Shepherd’s Bush

Match day, gig night, or both. Zero minutes from your bed. Big matches in private screen booths, open mic and karaoke through the week and food until late.

Belushi’s Shepherd’s Bush is the rare hostel bar that locals would drink in even if the beds upstairs did not exist. The private HD screen booths give you and your mates a match day setup few bars in Shepherd’s Bush can offer; the kitchen keeps serving long after most of the neighbourhood has closed, and on Empire gig nights the room takes on the energy of the crowd spilling in from the venue. The best bars in London earn their regulars. This one has them, and you are sleeping above it.

Your questions

Travellers’ frequently asked questions.

Whatever you still need to know before booking, the team at Shepherd’s Bush can answer it. These are the questions guests ask most often about arriving, settling in, and making the most of their stay.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in is from 15:00 and check out is by 11:00. If you arrive early or need a little longer at the end of your stay, early check in and late check out are available to add to your booking for a small additional fee. Luggage storage is also available at any time if you need it.

Is breakfast available at St Christopher’s Shepherd’s Bush?

Yes. Breakfast is available at the hostel, and we recommend adding it to your booking at the time of reservation to get the best rate. You can also purchase it on arrival, though it will cost a little more.

How do I get to St Christopher’s Shepherd’s Bush from Heathrow?

Take the Piccadilly line from any Heathrow terminal to Hammersmith, then change to the Circle or District line one stop to Shepherd’s Bush Market, or stay on to Barons Court and take the Central line to Shepherd’s Bush. The journey takes around forty to fifty minutes in total and no pre-booking is required.

Are there female-only dorms available?

Yes. St Christopher’s Inn Shepherd’s Bush offers female-only dorm rooms alongside mixed dorms and private room options. All dorm guests have access to secure lockers.

Is parking available nearby?

There is no on-site parking at the hostel. The nearest car park is the West 12 Centre multi-storey on Shepherd’s Bush Green, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a minimum charge of £7.00 and a 2m height restriction. Given the hostel’s location directly opposite Shepherd’s Bush tube station, public transport is the most straightforward option for most guests.

What is the minimum age to stay?

Guests must be 18 or over to stay independently. Under-18s are welcome when accompanied by an adult and staying in a private room. School groups are accommodated on a case by case basis and require an enquiry to our groups team before booking.
