Germany is known as the beer capital of the world - and Germans pride themselves on drinking excellent beer, especially Berliners. The craft beer scene in Berlin is constantly growing, here are some of the best places to enjoy a beer from a beer enthusiast!

HOPFENREICH- WRANGELKIEZ

Hopfenreich, Sorauer Str. 31, 10997 Berlin, Germany

This cool, vintage, corner bar was one of the first craft beer bars to appear within Berlin and continues to be one of the best. They have a constant 22 beers on tap in rotation of local and global beers. Even better is on Tuesdays the bar organizes a weekly tour of the city’s craft beer hotspots!

Closest U-Bahn stop: U-Bhf Schlesisches Tor

BRLO-GLEISDREIECK PARK

Schöneberger Str. 16, 10963 Berlin, Germany

One of the newer bars to the Berlin craft beer scene, BRLO is the Slavic origin of the name Berlin. Aside from its unusual name, another unusual fact is the building is constructed from shipping containers, giving it a cool industrial feel. As for different beers on tap they offer 20.. My personal favourite is the Berliner Weisse, a refreshing sour beer perfect for a hot summer day.

KASCHK- MITTE

Linienstraße 40, 10178 Berlin, Germany

One of the most unique craft beer bars in Berlin, this by-day coffee shop it is also a craft beer bar by night. As well as having this dual coolness, it also is the only bar in Berlin to feature shuffleboards. So if you’re feeling tired, stop in here during the daytime to wake up with a cup of coffee, then continue on in the evening with some beers all while playing shuffleboard with locals and expats.

STONE BREWING-MARIENPARK

Im Marienpark 23, 12107 Berlin, Germany

At only two years old, this American craft brewery takes up an expansive 3,200 square meters of main beer hall in Marienpark. It offers up to 75 unique beers on tap from breweries around the world, featuring 13 beers made on site exclusively for Berlin. My personal favourite is Stone Xocoveza, a rich winter-spiced mocha stout.

CASTLE PUB

Invalidenstraße 129, 10115 Berlin, Germany

Located right across from the Nordbahnhof this easily accessible bar is sure to be a favourite. In addition to their massive selection, Castle also offers 100 different bottled beers. As well as their massive selection Castle offers weekly events such as trivia on Mondays and, my personal favourite, Nintendo 64 Mario Kart nights, where you let your inner child come out.

BIRRA- PRENZLAUER BERG

Prenzlauer Allee 198, 10405 Berlin, Germany

Birra (Italian for beer) is the only exclusively Italian craft beer bar in the city, and although it is not German it has some of the best beers in the city. Birra features beers from from Birrificio Lambrete, who won the prize for best Italian Brewery and has over 20 years of experience.. They offer a mashup of the classic aperitivo, with a selection of delicious cheeses and sausages prepared from the regions of Piedmont and Lombardy.

PRATER- PRENZLAUER BERG

Kastanienallee 7-9, 10435 Berlin, Germany

This is one of my favourite spots in Berlin to cool off during the hot summer days. Prater is an authentic German beer garden that’s been around since the 1850s and experienced Prenzlauer Berg’s various transformations over the decades, both before and after reunification. Its garden section is open May to September with the indoor food hall open year round. It’s located just off of Kastanienallee and it’s a great place to stop and cool off with a Prater Pils after spending time in Mauerpark.

Closest U-Bhan stop: Eberswalder Straße
