Shoreditch is frequently given the title of London’s hippest area - and it has the food to match the rep. In this alternative East end neighbourhood, food doesn’t have to come with double digits either. If you’re looking for really tasty, good quality grub with a cheap price tag then Shoreditch is your place. Including street food, sit down restaurants, food trucks and more, these are the tastiest (and incredible) cheap eats in Shoreditch that will only cost you £7.50 or less! Who said being a tourist in London was unaffordable?

BEIGEL SHOP

A cheap and cheerful bakery serving up delicious Jewish Style filled bagels. There are two competing bagel shops on Brick Lane, but this one (the yellow one) is just that little bit better in our opinion, plus it’s been standing longer earning itself the title of London’s oldest bagel shop. We recommend the hot salt beef bagel that will only set you back around £4. You can even order rainbow bagels from here, costing as a little as 80p and then add fillings of your choice.

PIZZA UNION

Want cheap, fast and tasty pizza? Then head to Pizza Union in Spitalfields, specialising in fire-baked Italian pizzas with a thin and crispy base. You can get a 12 inch pizza for £5.50! Or a Margherita for £3.95. Can’t really complain and the pizza is really yummy. This is the perfect evening hangout with friends that won’t break the bank. The vibe at Pizza Union is also super cool and contemporary with bench-style seating plus cheap beer and wine (a glass of vino is only £3.20).

A fried chicken lover’s heaven takes form in a converted US Army ambulance. You can find the food-on-wheels at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Serving up truly melt-in-your-mouth tea brined, buttermilk soaked fried chicken (that’s been twice battered fried), you’re in for a treat. You can get fried chicken in a burger, on it own with fries, chicken strips or even thighs with sauce. You get the picture. A mini meal will cost £6.50 including 2 strips, fries and a drink!

The truck is open everyday.

BLEECKER BURGER

One of the best burgers in London for only £6.50. Head to Shoreditch to feast on New York style burgers in the East of London. Bleecker Burger uses free-range meat sourced from The Butchery in Bermondsey. The secret ingredient that makes Bleecker burgers so tasty and juicy is the black pudding. May sound a bit weird but it works, as proved by this burger joint winning the London Burger Bash in 2014. You can find the Bleecker Burger stand in Old Spitalfields Market. A cheeseburger or veggie burger costs £6.50. A bacon cheeseburger £7.50.

SOOD FAMILY HANDMADE PASTA

If you’re visiting Old Spitalfields Market on a pasta craving, scout out Sood Family. The chefs at this stall make their pasta fresh by hand in the market every single day, which is exactly why it is one of the tastiest (and cheapest) bowls of pasta you’ll find in London. Their menu is seasonal so changes often, but the spaghetti with tomato sauce is a classic that rarely gets bumped off. For £7.50, this dish is a gourmet bargain! For fresh, high-quality pasta that’s right on budget, Sood Family is the place for you.
