Your first few hours in Amsterdam should be spent exploring the city, not figuring out the basics. Check in, connect to the free WiFi, drop your bags in secure lockers, and head straight out.

Belushi’s Amsterdam
Hidden behind the bustle of Warmoesstraat, Belushi’s Amsterdam brings together a restaurant, bar, live music stage and one of the city’s best beer gardens in a single venue.
While you can still catch the big game on screen, music sits at the heart of the experience. With a full kitchen serving food until 10pm, a lively bar and a hidden city-centre beer garden, Belushi’s is the kind of place where a quick drink easily turns into an entire evening.
Whatever kind of trip you are on, The Winston has a room to match. Solo travellers can choose from mixed or female-only dorms, groups can take over a private room entirely, and those wanting extra comfort can opt for a private room. Most rooms include an en suite bathroom, and fresh towels are included as standard throughout.
You know that feeling when you arrive somewhere new and hope it all comes together? Here, it usually does. A quick drink becomes dinner. Dinner becomes plans for tomorrow. Before long, you’re seeing Amsterdam with people who were strangers when you checked in.

Travellers’ frequently asked questions
The best answers come from people who know this hostel inside out. The team at St Christopher’s Amsterdam has helped thousands of travellers make the most of their stay, from first-time solo visitors to groups exploring the city together. If there’s anything you’re still wondering before you book, you’ll probably find the answer below.
The Winston sits on Warmoesstraat 129, seven minutes on foot from Amsterdam Centraal – with direct trains to Paris, Brussels, and London via Eurostar connection. From Schiphol airport, a direct train to Centraal takes around 15 minutes, from where the hostel is a straightforward walk through the city centre. Tram stops on Damrak are a two-minute walk, putting the whole city within easy reach without ever needing a taxi.
Belushi’s bar runs events throughout the week – live music, happy hours, and organised social nights that make meeting other travellers easy from the first evening. The outdoor garden terrace is one of the hostel’s most distinctive assets and genuinely useful in a city where outdoor space in the centre is hard to come by. The mix of guests tends toward independent travellers who want a social base without it being overwhelming.
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Luggage storage is available for guests arriving early or leaving later than checkout. Belushi’s bar serves food and drink throughout the day and evening, with happy hours and events running most nights. Note that The Winston does not have a guest kitchen – Belushi’s and the excellent street food options surrounding Warmoesstraat are the practical alternatives.
The hostel offers shared dorms, pod-style rooms with individual privacy curtains, female-only accommodation, and private rooms. Group bookings are accommodated. Free towels are included across all room types. Book direct for the lowest available rate, a free welcome drink on arrival, free cancellation, and 25% off food and drink throughout your stay.
A full continental breakfast is available and worth adding to your booking at the time of reservation, at €6 it is significantly cheaper than buying on arrival or heading out to a café in central Amsterdam.
Every room at The Winston has been individually designed by local artists, giving the hostel a character that is genuinely its own rather than assembled from a catalogue. Belushi’s bar is on the ground floor with an outdoor garden terrace – rare in central Amsterdam and a genuine cool hangout for the guests and locals alike.
