Looking for the best steak restaurants in London that won’t break the bank? We’ve got you covered with our tried and tested list of the best cheap steak spots in the city that will have you drooling and wishing to go back as soon as possible for some juicy, tender beef. Whether you like a cut of rump, fillet, rib eye or flat iron, there’s nothing better than finding an affordable go-to restaurant in the city for your steak fix...

ROXIE’S

This is one of our favourite steak restaurants in London for affordable, juicy steak that costs considerably less than other steak joints in the city. A little more off the beaten track, this is a local hang out where you won’t find many tourists. You can choose from three different sauces: bernaise, chimichurri of our personal favourite peppercorn. The peppercorn sauce here is the best in London because the peppery flavour isn’t too overwhelming; a perfectly balanced sauce. With it’s warm, cosy atmosphere and selection of steaks to try, any meat lover will be obsessed with Roxies. We love the fillet steak that costs £14.50 for 175 grams. Most nice restaurants around London charge about £20 or more for a fillet so this is great value. The medallions are also worth a try for £12.

The sides are droolworthy: we recommend the creamed spinach, sesame soy beans or truffle mac n’ cheese. Perfect for a date night, a meal with friends or a birthday dinner Roxie’s is a great place for all occasions. Roxie has six locations in London including Fulham, Putney, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Twickenham and Clapham.

FLAT IRON

This well-known steak restaurant in the heart of London has customers returning again and again to make the most of the low prices. Their deliciously tender Flat Iron steaks only cost £10. Insane price. If you haven’t tried a flat iron steak before, you should do immediately. Flat iron is steak cut with the grain from the shoulder of the cow making it extra flavoursome and more-ish. With eight different locations in central city locations, you’ll never find yourself too far from a Flat Iron. With branches in Soho, Oxford Circus, Shoreditch, London Bridge, King’s Cross and Oxford Circus, this steak joint makes food lovers smile every day with its top-notch affordable steaks, delicious sides and four different sauces to choose from. This restaurant doesn’t take reservations, only walk-ins so make sure to get there early enough so you don’t have to stand in a long queue of Flat Iron fans.

BLACKLOCK

This great value steak house is highly rated with three different locations in London (Shoreditch, Soho and The City). Blacklock’s menu is perfect for a stylish dinner out in the Big Smoke that’s friendly to your wallet - especially if you go on Monday’s where you can get big chops at butcher prices - so much cheaper!

The cool thing about the Blacklock restaurants is that they’re all set in interesting buildings. The original restaurant in Soho is actually located in the basement of a former brothel. The Shoreditch branch is in an old industrial furniture factory and the City restaurant near Monument station is in a Grade II listed building on the grounds of London’s first ever meat market. Appropriate since Blacklock is known for serving up some of the best steaks in the city. We recommend trying the Garlic Marrow Spread for your steak dressing - it’s divine. All of the meat here is reared and dry aged on the bone in a small family farm in Cornwall.
