St Christopher’s Hotel Berlin – Alexanderplatz

A place of your own, and the St Christopher’s social side built in around it. We have spent thirty years putting travellers in the right place at the right time, and this is the one address in the network where every guest has their own room to come back to. The proof is the guest bar, open around the clock with refreshments and sport on the screens, kept for in-house guests only. It is the difference between hotels in Berlin city centre that hand you a key card and one that knows the value of a familiar face at midnight. Sustainably built throughout, down to the refillable dispensers.

Easy company, steps from your room

A bright lounge with screens for the match and a breakfast spread laid on each morning. It stays open every hour of the day, so whether you land at midnight or want coffee before the trams start, someone is about. Everyone here is a guest, which makes it the easiest place in the building to meet other travellers.

Your questions

Travellers’ frequently asked questions about our hotel in Alexanderplatz.

The practical things first: how this St Christopher’s Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz differs from our hostels, what you will find on site, and why the location moves you around the city faster than almost anywhere else to stay.

How is the hotel different from the St Christopher’s hostel in Berlin?

This is the only hotel in the St Christopher’s network, while every other property, including the St Christopher’s hostel ten minutes away at Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße, is a hostel. Here you book a private room with your own en-suite bathroom rather than a dorm bed, and the social side comes from a guest-only lounge open 24 hours rather than shared dorms. You get the brand’s thirty years of travel know-how in a format built entirely around your own space.

Is there a bar at the hotel, and is it Belushi’s?

The bar at the hotel is not Belushi’s. On site there is a guest-only lounge open 24 hours with refreshments, screens showing sport and a breakfast spread each morning, kept for people staying at the hotel. Belushi’s Berlin Alexanderplatz is a separate venue roughly ten minutes on foot at Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 39-41, and guests who book direct get a St Christopher’s discount there.

What can you reach on foot from the hotel?

A good deal. The TV Tower is 600 metres away, the Nikolai Quarter is around 1km, Hackescher Markt is 1.2km and Museum Island is 1.5km, all comfortably walkable. The Brandenburg Gate is roughly 3km, about 35 minutes on foot or a few minutes by train. The trams at Alexanderplatz are under 100 metres from the door, so anything further is a short ride away.

Is the hotel a good base for seeing a lot of Berlin quickly?

It is one of the best-connected addresses in the city. The trams (M2, M4, M5, M6) are under 100 metres from the door, the U-Bahn (U2, U8) is around 200 metres, and the S-Bahn and regional trains are roughly 300 metres at S+U Alexanderplatz. Berlin Brandenburg Airport connects directly via the RE7 or RB14, reaching Alexanderplatz in under an hour. With two or three days you lose very little time moving between Mitte, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg and beyond.

Does St Christopher’s have private rooms in Berlin?

Yes. The hotel at Bernhard-Weiß-Straße 8 has 61 private rooms, ranging from singles for solo travellers up to rooms that sleep a small group, and every one has its own en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Each room also includes a desk, a 40-inch TV, air conditioning, soundproofing, blackout blinds and free Wi-Fi. What sets this property apart is that it is private rooms only, with no dorm beds.
