LIVE MUSIC, SPORT AND THE BEST OF EDINBURGH’S NIGHTS
Belushi’s Edinburgh draws students, locals and travellers and has done for long enough that it earns its place among the best bars in Edinburgh on reputation alone. Live music, DJ nights, live sport on multiple screens, pub crawls, beer pong and free walking tours run from the bar throughout the week. Edinburgh takes its evenings seriously, and Belushi’s operates squarely within that culture rather than alongside it.
Some cities demand a proper base, and Edinburgh is one of them. Every bunk at Edinburgh Original has its own privacy curtain, female-only en suite dorms provide a comfortable and welcoming space for solo travellers, and private group rooms are available for those who want exclusive use.
Free walking tours, Edinburgh bar crawls and social nights: all organised before you leave the building.

Travellers’ frequently asked questions.
Every question here comes from a real traveller planning a stay on Market Street. The answers come from the team on the ground, people who know this hostel and Edinburgh inside out.
Edinburgh Waverley station is a five-minute walk. Use the Market Street exit from the station and the hostel is on the same street. Edinburgh Airport is around 35 minutes by tram from Princes Street, a short walk from the hostel.
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. If you need more flexibility, early check-in and late check-out are both available to book in advance for a small fee.
Yes. A continental buffet breakfast is available daily – breads, cold cuts, spreads, yogurt, cereals, fruit, juices, coffee, and tea, with gluten-free, vegan, lactose-free, and nut-free options included. Add a voucher online for £5 or pay £6 on the day. Book online when you make your reservation for the best rate.
The hostel does not have on-site parking. The nearest long-stay car park is New Street Car Park (EH8 8BH), a short walk away. On-street parking on Market Street is metered and not suitable for overnight stays.
Edinburgh is a safe and walkable city and Market Street puts you in the heart of the Old Town from the moment you arrive. The hostel has 24-hour reception, secure lockers, female-only dorm rooms, and Belushi’s bar on site, a natural place to meet people on your first evening.
Belushi’s bar is on the ground floor and runs a full programme of hostel events – live music, themed nights, and regular socials that give solo travellers a natural reason to get talking. Market Street puts you in the middle of the Old Town, which helps too.
