St Christopher’s Edinburgh – Original

Our original Edinburgh hostel sits on Market Street, directly opposite Waverley Station, in the heart of the medieval Old Town. Its sister property, St Christopher’s Inn Edinburgh Old Town, sits directly across the street. Edinburgh Castle is under a mile on foot, Princes Street takes five minutes, and the Grassmarket is a short walk downhill. The atmosphere here has been shaped by years of guests arriving off trains from London, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness, dropping their bags and heading straight out into one of Britain’s most characterful cities. Belushi’s bar is downstairs, running live music, DJ nights, pub crawls, live sport and events throughout the week. Book direct and a welcome drink is waiting on arrival, along with 25% off food for the length of your stay.

You’ve arrived!

Waverley is directly opposite. You cross the road, check in at reception, and your bed is ready. Locker for your bag, bed linen already on, and the Old Town is right outside. You are already where you need to be.

An Edinburgh stroll

The Royal Mile starts at the end of the street, Edinburgh Castle is uphill from you, the Grassmarket is round the corner and Princes Street is five minutes in either direction so you head out on foot. N need a map for map with Edinburghs landmarks in front of you.

You head downstairs

Belushi’s is on the ground floor and your welcome drink is already waiting. The sport is on the screens, happy hour is running, and the room fills quickly with people who came off the same trains you did. Find a seat, order food, and let the evening start.

The night takes over

Live music starts and the bar finds its pace. Edinburgh’s pub culture runs late and Belushi’s is a good place to be inside it: students, locals, and travellers in roughly equal measure, the kind of evening that was not in the original plan.

Morning, then the city again

You know where everything is now. The Royal Mile, the Grassmarket, the closes off the High Street you spotted yesterday and did not have time for. The locker holds your bag and Market Street is right outside. Edinburgh has more in it than one day covers.

LIVE MUSIC, SPORT AND THE BEST OF EDINBURGH’S NIGHTS

No Scotland, no party. Belushi’s Edinburgh has been the social heart of this street for years

Belushi’s Edinburgh draws students, locals and travellers and has done for long enough that it earns its place among the best bars in Edinburgh on reputation alone. Live music, DJ nights, live sport on multiple screens, pub crawls, beer pong and free walking tours run from the bar throughout the week. Edinburgh takes its evenings seriously, and Belushi’s operates squarely within that culture rather than alongside it.
