Curry Mitte
One of the most famous spots on this list, Curry Mitte is worth the wait. This one is located smack bang in the centre of the district and may look like a pretty touristy spot, but it really does live up to the hype. For €5,90 you can get a plate of curry sauce-covered sausage, fries and a drink (beer included). Here’s also one of the few currywurst shops where you can pull up a chair and enjoy your food under cover, rather than having to take it to go or shiver in the Berlin chill. Plus, for those that want the currywurst experience but don’t eat pork, they serve beef sausages, too.
Curry 61
Right by one of the busiest shopping areas in Berlin called Hackescher Markt, you’ll find Curry 61, often overflowing with people waiting for their curry fix. In between shopping, join the queue and stop for a refuel of their amazing value currywurst and fries - and vegetarians don’t even miss out! Curry 61 is famous for also serving up some seriously tasty veggie currywurst (it’s vegan without the sauce, but the sauce contains honey). Like an extra kick? Just ask the server and they’ll add some extra spice to your sausage.

Best Worscht
Looking for the best wurst? This place is definitely a top contender but we don’t have favourites… Best Worscht is inside a shopping mall by Potsdamer Platz, just a stone’s throw away from Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Memorial. It may be a shopping centre eatery, but that by no means takes away from the taste of this delicious wurst! If you’re after proper spicy curry sauce to drench your German sausage, this one is probably for you. You can choose the level of spice, any extra toppings you fancy like jalapenos or crispy onions, and then the choice between pork or beef sausage.
Alex Bistro
Hungry in Alexanderplatz? This will be sure to hit the spot. The currywurst served up at Alex Bistro is also legendary. The funny and friendly staff won’t leave you long once you’ve put in your order of curry-ketchup covered wurst, it’s all served in record speed and for unreal prices. Sit at the foot of the TV tower and munch on your currywurst with an epic view. Just bear in mind the only seating is outside.
Curry Baude
It may be considered a little north for Mitte, but Curry Baude definitely deserves a shout out anyway. The same butcher has been running Curry Baude since 1989, whipping up sausage with or without casing using his own secret recipe… This one is a truly ‘Berlin-style’ currywurst joint, serving the sausages a little crisp on the outside along with fries that have the perfect crunch. Then the curry ketchup! Delicious.
